All the growing she did
She hadn’t completely let him go
All of those emotions swept under a rug in a room used no more.
Furniture so dusty you can see the particles floating in the air
Mirrors smeared with tears held back because he wasn’t worthy
Because she didn’t believe she was hurting
Those tears needed her & she needed them
To cleanse her
To release her
To unleash her
Free her
& not just from him
From herself
Of thinking she could never love someone else
She knew that in order to have a clean house she needed to clean all the rooms
She had been under a false impression
She finally realized he was the test & under the rug lie the lesson
So she cleaned & emotions were released
Not to sulk in them
But to feel them
Heal them
Let them flow
get the lesson
& let them go
